A Neighbourhood Plan will allow communities to say where they think new houses, businesses and shops should go and what they should look like. This will give the residents of Yapton a greater say in the future of Yapton.
On Thursday, 9th February 2012 we invited the local community to come to a Presentation at Yapton & Ford Village Hall . Take a look at the comments and photos here.
Following on from the Drop In Day we're asking all residents of Yapton to complete a Community Survey telling us what they like and dislike about our Parish. This will help us to create a Community Profile.

Over 44% strongly disagree with ADC's allocation of 200 houses.Over 76% strongly agree that the existing development boundary should be maintained.Over 56% strongly agree that any future development should contribute to road capacity & safety in Yapton.

The YNP Group invited Nick Gibb, MP for Bognor & Littlehampton to our Drop-In Day Rehearsal where he took a great interest in our range of presentations, asked lots of questions and gave his support to a Neighbourhood Plan for Yapton.
The Localism Act is now in place but the National Planning Policy Framework (NPFF) is still in draft. No-one can be sure what the final version will look like but according to the Chancellor, George Osborne, "the default answer to developmnet is yes". This will affect most of the Sussex coastal plain (including Yapton) as it is currently unprotected.
